OTS hires have been more or less limited to pilots leaving the RCAF or ExPats with wide body experience.

Are they still hiring pilots off Dash 8s from "705 lite" companies; Perimeter, PAL, CMA, etc.?

Here's a rough tally for AC's 2019 Hiring
226 - Jazz
39 - GGN
27 - SR
26 - RCAF
18 - Sunwing
15 - Porter
26 - Westjet
38 - Encore
8 - Swoop
11 - Cathay Pacific
9 - EVA/Emirates//Air India/ Thomas Cook
3 - CargoJet
9 - Flair
10 - Cdn North/ 1st Air/ Air North
13 - Corporate (Although some might have been 705'lite Ops?)
3 - Transport Canada/Bombardier
8 - Pasco/Bearskin/Calm Air/EVAS/Sky North
2 - Very unfortunate Air Transat pilots

The hiring at the start of the year was more OTS weighted while the courses running since the end of summer have been mostly from the connectors.

That's a total of 491 new hires of which 292 (59%)were from the connectors (Jazz, SR, GGN) leaving only 41% OTS. Any idea what the hiring numbers are going to be like for 2020. :prayer:

Thanks for the note, what a great Christmas present for the ones who got the call!!

Does that mean only 1 class for Jan and 1 class for Feb?

Any info on class sizes?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas everyone!

Considering the heavy load on the training department right now from the latest bids, and given it's the new year I wouldn't be surprised if it's just one in January. By spring things will ramp up again as usual.

It was pretty embarrassing... bragging about making 10k+ a month as a year 2 or 3 capt at jazz working "minimal" overtime....

Literally impossible unless u do 110+ hours

Probably took 5 weeks off in a row and picked up a whole month of flying at 1.5x pay.
