I don't think anyone knows. But they have not finished calling and interviewing people from their last posting.

30 pilots every month starting mid September. They haven't reopened the position online yet. It's my assumption that hiring at those numbers will deplete the PML in fairly short order. I would expect hiring of off the street candidates to restart sometime this fall.

Are these PML v2.0 you imagine will be depleted with this rush of 30/month?

Hopefully they get through the pool soon.....hiring can't be that robust if it takes that much time to open the posting again or the pml is filling the seats. Most ots guys can't go from 80 to 100k to 40 in hopes of pml flow .... it's great for the regionals but ac and now wj missing out on an entire slice of Canadian experience

The answer is today, September 10th. Depends on how much of this you believe, sounds like lots of opportunities.

From the Pilot Career Center Website: link
Minimum 2000 hours. Expecting to hire hundreds of pilots in 2017.

Airline hires pilots into mainline or rouge depending upon needs.

* Each new hire course consists of 20 new pilots.

* One class of new hires each month, indefinitely.

Noticed that one too, although there isn't an official job posting on the Air Canada website.

Just passed an agreement allowing Rouge growth and recapturing regional flying. Expect hiring to pick-up, probably 25-30 a month.

New hires now get a much better pension, not sure what the new working condition will be like. 16 day a month narrow body protection still there.

Good luck.

The hiring was coming anyway.

This agreement will allow them to hire fewer pilots.

Latest rumour I heard, from a source that I consider reliable, is a course of 30, every 3 weeks, indefinitely

With retirements and big growth at mainline & Rouge, it is going to be getting pretty crazy, in my opinion

Glass half full, folks

How many of those do you suppose will come from the express carriers. Looking at the issues right now facing Jazz/GGN/SKY the PML is just not sustainable. All three are already cancelling flights because of lack of crew, can they continue to keep the PML a realistic option to staff big red, while sacrificing their regional flying?

Would seem to me that if rouge is taking more Regional flying, that it would solve the lack of crewing at express therefore the PML should work betteR. No?

Sky regional isn't cancelling flights ? We are overstaffed

Then I assume the posting on PCC from two days ago would be to replenish the pool?

Yes. And anyone interviewing right now is being told it's for a pool.

I have also seen the email that is sent out to people inviting them for an interview, and it says "in anticipation of expanding the company's existing 175 fleet" in it. Apparently all interview emails don't have that line either.

The pool is probably for this anticipated expansion.

Exactly, people see some post and assume it must be due to shortage. They hear a rumour and it must be lack of crew for the cancel. Proof
