Air Canada "haute cuisine" and incidence of Crew diarrhea?

Curious what percentage of Air Canada front end crew forgo the onboard cuisine in favour of "Brown Bagging" it in order to preserve the integrity of their gastrointestinal tract? Does anyone at the company track the incidence of Crew illness (ie: Diarrhea) post inflight meal consumption? My G.I. tract usually lets me know 6 hrs after eating something funky, and have had that experience a couple of times as a J class passenger on AC.

I’m sure everyone reacts differently to many kinds of foods, whether they’re on an airplane or not. Personally, I’d rather have something fresh out of the oven than 4 day old leftover chicken and broccoli that’s been in a lunch box with ice packs on it for 4 days.

If it doesn’t agree with your stomach, don’t eat it.

Dude, over the last 6 years I have eaten a lot of AC crew meals. Have never felt the least bit sick. Might not be my favourite food but I have no more worry about it making me sick than eating at any airport restaurant.

Sometimes I poop early on a layover. Sometimes I poop a lot of times on a layover. I figure it's due to the crazy spicy and interesting food that I always eat on the layovers in Asia. This doesn't bother me, the toilets overseas almost all have the spray wash function
When I picture the food prep facility that makes our meals I picture hair nets, extreme sanitation, food that gets cooked to within an inch of it's life. Is there someone here who has taken a tour of one of our caterers?

Message for the OP. Maybe you should do some test for food intolerances. I discovered few years ago that I was or became intolerant to lactose. Those crew meal providers have very high standards and it is doubtful that you are getting food poisoning.

Was in YYZ other week taking in a couple of ball games, we had an Airbnb spot downtown and during the course of the stay did the Uber eats thing- Indian. Lots of loud “heaters”, they burn on departing with the emanate danger of skivvie skid marks.
What’s this got to do with Air Canada - absolutely nothing insofar as we had a very pleasant flight down and back on your airline, even the Pearson gong show and drive was tolerable.

It’s my understanding that the OP is a Transat pilot who got a J class seat while on a reciprocal jumpseat pass, and decided to hate on the free meal he was served by creating this thread instead of just not eating it.

I've probably had every variety of J class meal domestically over the last two years. From snacks to salads to 'main' course. I've never had any digestive issues. I think OP needs to buck up the fiber intake.

PS - The omlette for me was different on my last outing out of YYZ - no sausage or potatoes but bigger egg and some potato/white sauce mix. More fruit though with every option which was nice.

I've eaten the meals operating, and riding in J, extensively and while the overseas business class food and snacks are better, domestic is still very good.

If you are having a problem, maybe you forgot to wash your hands. Better listen to your mom and clean up, buttercup.
