AC Hireing
Hi everyone,
Im just curious what kind of time/experience people have that are getting called for interviews right now.
Maybe their is no common criteria. I would just like to see if there is hope for me yet.
Thanks,
FLC

From what I've been told, you are overqualified. Apparently the way AC sees it is that you will become disgruntled with the low starting wage a lot sooner than a 2000 hr wonder. To the low timer 37K will most likely be a raise and if anything will improve their standard of life (you can only go up when you start at the bottom right?).Z_Pilot wrote:

This is what I've been told consistently by people in the know, however they are known to hire a few token high timers. Good Luck!
Not so. My course entailed pilots ranging from 2100 to 11000 hrs, from King Air experience, to 747 F/O's and everything in between. I was quite impressed with the diversity that existed amongst that group. 'yycflyguy' has already mentioned in another thread about a military pilot in his 50's beginning his career at AC this year.Timone123 wrote:

I have to agree, my course had the same, everywhere from 2500 hours up to the over 10000 mark....with some that had no jet time, to lots of jet PIC....
There did seem to be that common thread of university, college, military, or from Jazz. Not sure what the selection train of thought is, but I do have to say everyone was great, a really great bunch of people.
However, having said that, I am also friends with people who have interviewed, who are not only great people, but amazing qualifications, and they have gotten a rejection letter. I wish I could help you more, but definitely don't think they are going to say you are overqualified. I just think they are looking at alot more then just hours nowadays.
hope that helps, and good luck
