AC pilots highest paid in North America

Post by linebacker35 »

For all those here who think AC pay is not as good as it should be, compare it to the rest of the industry... AC is already king of the hill. No other airline is even close in terms of 777 CA pay.

Without seeing the entire pay scale that's suspect at very best. The year of reference changes within each aircraft group. It just reaks of picking the right year on the scale to display what you're looking to prove. If it had been the very top of each pay scale it may have been worth something.

I came accross this website a little while ago:

http://...blogspot.com/2007/01/pay ... lines.html

Not sure how accurate it is but it seems to give a pretty good comparison of North American pilot salaries.

Wow,

The winners that are on this forum.... linebacker, just like valcore, you might want to take that foot out of your mouth - hate to see you choke on it.

But it's probably from the lack of oxygen that you've been receiving since you decided to stick that foot in your mouth and wedge it down your throat that has caused you to spew out some hilarious rhetoric without actually thinking it through.

Nice try though.

Linebaker, this means nothing : compare the salary with the cost of life, then look at the difference. Not sure it's better to be in Canada where everything is more expensive than in US...

Not only does the pay at Air Canada compare favourably with other North American airlines but their pension is very good too. I know a pilot with Air Canada who will be retiring within 8 years on over $10,000 a month. :D

Don't forget these in your comparison...

737 FO (year 5)
Southwest: 111
Fedex: 104

777/747 FO (year 5)
Fedex: 121
UPS: 116

737 CA (year 10)
Southwest 181
Fedex 167

777/747 CA (year 10)
Fedex: 195
UPS: 210

No conversion for USD-CAD, and the aircraft types on the categories were kept the same even though they fly slightly different stuff.

Don't forget Westjet. As far as I've worked out they are the highest. 5 year captain's are 200K on their T4's. 3 year FO's are 105-115K on their T4's. Blah blah about stock options and what ever. These numbers are what the company doles out to you year after year. These numbers also don't reflect if you cashed out on your stock options.
Just thought I should throw a teal shade to this as no one else has.

As far as AC numbers go, it is interesting to note these tables are not even close to the real numbers for whatever reason. I have noticed this year over year for a long time. I have also confirmed this with other pilots. The tables have been known to understate the numbers as much as $20k. Take it for what it's worth, but don't take the tables seriously.

Amateur.
WJ numbers are impressive.

Oh i know, ive always preffered the states anyway.

But jeez on a general note I was not expecting this reaction... just thought I would post some info showing that AC is doing alright and things could be alot worse. But of coarse the forum seemed in unanimous agreement that happy news will not be tollerated, and must turn it into something bad. Typical glass is half empty mentality
