It's at the 20:20 mark or thereabouts. You hear the part about the 'light twin', but nothing after that.

Re: What a NOB!
Is pay that is based on the size of airplanes due to the bigger the airplane the harder it is to fly?
The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Re: What a NOB!
Larger aircraft typically attract higher pilot pay rates as they generate greater revenue for the company. That increment can be paid directly to the pilots on the aircraft (equipment based pay) or shared with the entire pilot population at the airline (status pay).Cat Driver wrote:Is pay that is based on the size of airplanes due to the bigger the airplane the harder it is to fly?
Re: What a NOB!
If that is the case than we've had the pay scales all wrong all these years.Cat Driver wrote:Is pay that is based on the size of airplanes due to the bigger the airplane the harder it is to fly?

It didn't really matter the flight number so I generated one for myself...lighten up!The Raven wrote:I call bullshit. AC 123 isn't a Heavy. It is an A320, YYZ-YEG.

Did you not see the laughing smiley at the end of my post? Of course I knew what you meant. That's why I added the smiley.
Since you are the original poster, complaining about a comment (possibly in poor taste) from a fellow aviator, perhaps you should be the one to "lighten up". Life is too short. If you let another pilot's comments bother you, you're going to have an early heart attack.
The Raven (still laughin' at the "light twin" comment as well as all the angst on this thread).

Next time ground tells me to follow the embraer from right to left, I'll reply, "we'll follow the Jazz embraer" and see how much of a sense of humor that crew will have.MackTheKnife wrote:

Yep, I don't think I would count stock in an airline as a pension. You can save your company matched stock and put it in RRSP after they vest, but if you live 30 years after you retire, will the money last that long?
Myself, I will have a pension and some RRSPs to top it off.

That said, the original poster is not flying a 757 for Dash 8 wages.
He is flying it for roughly 155+ per hour. He is not greedy, and does not think he is better than me because his plane is bigger (IMAGINE!).
Thus, under our policy, he is sharing the difference between his wage and mine with me. Nice dude, really.
Why did anyone have to explain this again for crying out loud?!
One other point as I have had much coffee and cannot seem to stop typing:
WJA, AC, Jazz, Transat, Sunwing, Canjet etc etc etc all seem to be decent places to work.
If you think your company is better, and you with it because your phone rang first, then you are an buffoon.

Re: What a NOB!
Look you guys, an airplane is an airplane. Just because you are flying the 757 doesn't mean you are the shit. There will always be someone with a bigger...... Just chill out, pick a hobby and go spend your time on that instead of coming on here and getting into a wanker / NOB contest.

I'm not gonna call it a pension but I will call it retirement 55. It was gonna be retirement 50 but we decided to have kids.rudder wrote:You clearly do not understand the formula used to determine the rates used in the pay system at Jazz.
