ATPL?

Post by Johnny Drama »

Has anyone been or heard of anyone being hired with AC with the ATPL exams complete and frozen, but lacked on total time for the actual lisence? Its my situation. I've been applying for a while but lack that magical ATPL. I fly a transport jet (not with Jazz) but I lack on total time (I have 2300 now with 600 jet but 95% of my TT is right seat) and am curious if people have actually got on AC like that recently.....

What type of time are the new hires getting on with? I heard that right seat multi turbine guys are getting on now-a-days......

I'm 99.9% sure you wont get a call without ATPL, have never heard of anyone getting an interview without one. Would love to be proven wrong though since I don't have one either!
Lowest i've seen get an AC job recently is 3100h, 1000 of which were VFR paradrop, 1000 FO king-air 100, less than 1000 PIC 704.
A few friends have gotten the interview with around 2800, 2900, but got PFOd.. obviously, all had ATPL. But most interviews have about 4000h or more in my circle.
What's the lowest total time you guys have seen get the AC job recently? Any PC12 drivers?
