If this thread and others bother you so much, I'd suggest staying away from internet forums for the rest of your career. I actually haven't read anything horribly negative on this thread? Mostly a bunch of questions being asked by people interested in this program, some answers from ggn, overall career advice from a few established airline pilots, and of coarse some smart ass remarks from smart ass posters. If you can't filter out the useful insight from the garbage you're not going to gain much here.Censo wrote:I'm getting really tired of these pilots taking about how much they dislike their job and how the industry is going in shits. It's not hurting me in anyway. Maybe if you do some more searching on this forum, you'll find out what I'm talking about.
Re: Air Georgian Cadet Program
Censo, your posts really infuriate me, I presume that you are either still in high school or working on your ratings/licenses, so I will cut you a bit of slack as you clearly have no idea what the aviation industry is like. Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoy the flying aspect of the job, I don't enjoy the fact that their is guys like you that as you said "want to get their foot in the door" (your post from another thread), degrading the industry, and justifying ggn wages so that you can fly a RJ right out of school. To answer your question, Many pilots don't have degrees or anything to fall back on to get out of the aviation industry, and why should they? We have been making a fair salary for years, just recently their has been a lot pressure to "lower the standard" because airlines know that certain pilots like bigger/faster airplanes and will do anything to fly them. Anyways, its all well and good to be passionate about flying and love what you do but as another poster said, wait til you have a family and financial obligations and see how your "tune" changes. I look forward to hearing from you in 5-10 years and see if you feel the same way. Goodluck with your career.Censo wrote:I'm getting really tired of these pilots taking about how much they dislike their job and how the industry is going in shits. Okay, I really don't want to sound disrespectful as I truly believe that this forum can be beneficial to all of its users, from 0 time to 40,000 hours total time. But I noticed you joined earlier this week and I've read through your posts and can see that you're both a bit naive as to how the airline industry works, and that you've managed to step on some toes. This industry is small enough that it could very well be hurting your chances of a smooth career progression. So once again I'd like to humbly suggest that maybe you do some more reading on this forum, take the opportunity to pick up a few things from those who have "been around while", have a laugh, and maybe even make some useful connections.Censo wrote:It's not hurting me in anyway. All the best.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to come off like I did. My apologies to all that felt uncomfortable about my posts.
Re: Air Georgian Cadet Program
Really excited about this. Currently a senior in high school, threw my application into the pool about a week ago. Really hoping to get a call. Anyone know when they'll be notifying those selected for an interview?

They updated the program's webpage on Monday:

Long story short, you'll hear (or not) in the next 2 weeks. Best of luck!

Re: Air Georgian Cadet Program
I was hoping to apply for that this year. Oh well. I bet you they will close the program for good pretty soon.
Re: Air Georgian Cadet Program
They have an ad up for an RJ training pilot. Only a 4year bond!
