Days worked per month

Post by Bede »

What is the average number of days you guys work per month for each type? How about max for junior guy and min for senior guy?

Thanks

Bede,

You will probably have to parse out the question to:

- WB mainline
- NB mainline
- EMB mainline
- WB Rouge
- NB Rouge

I have several acquaintances that reverted to mainline WB FO from mainline NB Capt just to improve quality of flying, total days off, and vacation bidding. Net pay was about the same due to much higher per diems on mainline WB international. With the new bidding rules I believe that there is a limit of just one down bid per career. And then there is just one career opportunity to choose a mainline WB Capt position, unless it is due to displacement. Seems that there are dramatic differences in quality of life within the now segmented AC operation. Probably too early to assess the Rouge schedules.

Our new fos says 16 days max. now that being said they have been giving yyz 320 guys more with the option to drop the extra with no credit. Emj f/o is 13-16 days on avg. senority and the way you bid may buy you an extra day off just depends what pairings you get and what the credit is that month. But if your low on the pole you wont likely get the days off when you want them and could be 2 or 3 here and there, whoch if you live at your base no problem but for commuting sucks. being senior will always buy you a better life style but generally less money

Senior can do as low as 9 (3x Asia)

NB is capped at 16, with the ability for the company to go 17 if they can't build a schedule since our pairings are so inefficient.

On the WB, its a pretty big difference between the 777 and the others, since so much of what the 777 does is ultra-productive. Blockholders near the bottom of the 767 will do up to 18 days in high hour months.

As an RP I've done between 12 and 18 days in a month depending on credit hours and if we are operating the SCL and GRU flights in the summer which doesn't have us deadheading one way.

19-21 days are not uncommon on the b767 during high DBM months. Other months might be 18 days of flying with 2 days of sim.

Might want to look elsewhere if you're looking for a better agreement/contract...
