Nobody has made it to age 65 retirement yet as the extension was implemented December 2012 so the first 65 year old retirees won't be until December 2017. We had 5 retire last month. All of 2014 had 4 or 5 retire. This was supposed to be the peak of retirements (130-150/year for 3 or 4 years). Hence the super-awesome-stagnation we are in.jjj wrote:Now that was funny.Mustard wrote:Lol. Do you guys also include the change you find on the ground while on a layover?
There is no doubt that the best money and pension in Canada is for the AC guys who made the cut off prior to the defined contribution guys.
The WestJet guys do very well if they work a bit harder and the nice thing is most wont have to work until 65. That is the benefit of managing money smartly on the front end. Most guys that started young enough have eyes on retiring in their 50s which isn't bad at all.
Question - do the AC types around here have any data on average longevity of AC pilots that retire at 65? Does anybody retire at AC prior to 65 for that matter?
Thanks in advance.
