New Encore Interview Process

Post by OverSeas »

Hello Everyone,

I have an interview coming up with Encore and I received all the documentation. There is no more mention of a 10 minute presentation that a candidate has to do.

Does anyone have any experience with the new interview process and could you expand on it a little for me please? I know there are many interview threads but I can't find the recent ones.

Thanks!

Best piece of knowledge for the interview is that Kraft dinner isn't the way to go. Far too expensive per portion... The trick is "no name mac and cheese", then freeze it into four portions. Much more cost effective, and leaves enough change for the bus!!

Lifesaver : bring few pairs of those glassy latex gloves they use during turns to clean the aircraft. might be a good thing to show them at some point during the interview...

Pointy,

You forgot to mention the part where you cook it for 4 hours so it gets really big. That's key to getting it to make 4 portions per box.

Must not forget to bring your parents T4's and a list of family members that have empty spare bedrooms in both YYC and YYZ.

Overtime kicks in at 90 hours.
Most people rarely break 70 hours a month.

No hot dogs for you.

No more presentation. 45 minute tech exam. Behavioural/situational questions/conversation. The usual q&a and review of qualifications..

OverSeas.

If you are in your 40s and trying to feed a family - Encore is gonna suck. WestJet/Encore doesn't have much to offer people like that anymore.

If you're young and low on hours - you'll love it. You'll get a spot on a list to fly an airplane ahead of hundreds of applicants with 10x your experience.

The money will come in time and you'll enjoy a civilized/safe/professional environment for many years. Something that simply wasn't available to a lot of us who are longer in the tooth.

Have a great interview and always be mindful of the terms you sign up for. In the end - WS will over deliver.

As far as some of the cat callers go - some are funny and some will be shining your shoes on day.

Later.
