How long before WJ has etops for the 767?

Now landed!

For any WestJetters who haven't seen the internal notice, it will be available for viewing today between 11am and 2pm at the Calgary hangar, no other opportunity before it enters service. No visitors unfortunately, WestJetters only.

Any mods to the hangar in YYC to make that thing fit? plans to build a bigger hangar?

There are plans, but no timelines and final approvals yet.

I believe the WestJet/Sky Service hanger in YYZ is big enough to fit in. I don't see how you could do all the maintenance outside during winter.

Alberta goverment use to pull the dash 8 onto a ramp lifting the nose and lowering the tail to fit it in, any chance of that?

That wouldn't work for the Calgary hangars, as the 767-300ER with winglets has a wingspan that is about 5m wider than the door opening. The leased Toronto hangar has a door opening of about 60m compared with the 50.9m wingspan and should have sufficient height.

Usually 3 months. But there is an accelerated ETOPS approval process, for airlines that already carry out ETOPS 180 operations on another airframe/engine combo (WS B738 to Hawaii), so it should be shorter than 3 months.

It's a glitch, I don't think Flightaware is updated as often as the schedule is. So far Oct 2nd it's in the schedule.....

Hmmm what is the delay? Will that mean the HNL operation will be pushed back ? The sked shows it flying YYC-HNL on Dec. 12 which is pushing the ETOPs certification.
