WJ seems not to have learned their lesson (Spying?)

Post by FenceSitter »

Hmmm, the leader of WJ's research and insights team has admitted on Yammer to asking certain paying customers to open up their phones and video record the competition on their own planes. In the same blurb he also says that WJ customers were encouraged to record/photograph their flight attendants during their service and to send the information in to WJ. What kind of self-flagellating fool authorizes this? If the press gets a hold of that it's another stain on the image. Ridiculous...simply ridiculous, and I hope whoever authorized this at any level retires somewhere between midnight and 0600 immediately.

Unreal! As someone who has a wife that is a FA here, this is unacceptable!

Do you have a screenshot or link to the thread?

They didn't learn. Maybe if they weren't paying millions in legal fees per quarter the profit would be higher.
When is the last time a WJ CEO apologized for anything?

Knowing the legal dept members well, WestJet actually spends a lot less than the average company of it’s size. Also, the Chief Guest Experience Officer, responsible for the in-flight experience, left the company a week ago.

Only after it was exposed in the media. If it hadn't it would likely be ongoing.
