Westjet is not the place it once was. Be prepared for a long sit in the right seat. Moral is very low.

First there is a test on how fast you can groom a 737, then they want to see how many groceries you can buy for $500. Like those old game shows. Oh and you need to be able to touch your toes.

Are you crazy? $1200 pay cheques every two weeks if you're lucky enough to be making perdiems while on reserve. At least 15+ years for an upgrade. Or maybe go to Swoop for a paycut and lose YOS. Give your head a shake.

It appears that there are some who are not happy to be at WestJet, and those who aspire to be in it...perhaps if they were to switch spots, both problems would be solved and everyone will live happy lives!

Hi Neg,
The video interview is pretty straight forward.
It gives us a preliminary screen of the candidate and a chance to ask one or two questions. Over the years many companies have switched to this preliminary screening tool - and specific to us - it replaced the old "phone screen" (telephone conversation).

It simply saves time when it comes to the recruiting process and gives you an opportunity to start the process off on the right foot. Questions vary, but are simple and basic such as "tell us about yourself" etc.

My advice: be yourself, speak clearly and present yourself professionally

We are currently filling several courses: May (1), June (2), Aug (2), Sept(1) and October(1)
Take care,
Dave

Dave, as a retired Air Canada pilot who went through quite a different albeit enjoyable interview process, your willingness to put yourself out there for these young pilots is very commendable and refreshing!
Good on you!
