Partial rosters?

Post by M. Essaie »

If I understood someone the other day, there is an option to work less than a full roster per month. Is that true? If so, does that option come after several years of service or is it available from the get-go?

Yes we have one.
-60 hours/month, min block guarantee is 50 hours
- can apply after probation, offered in order of pilot list
- blocked to a max of 10 days
- Still have benefits
- must go full time 6-8 months prior to upgrade

It's just as easy to give away 20 hours a month with FLICA.

Hope this helps.

You can give away the pairings if you don't need the money...

Ya KAG, isn't it like you can given away a full month worth of pairings if you wanted to as long as you make up for it by the end of the year kind of thing? Or how does that work? Are you entitled to doing certain numbers of pairings or flights / year if you give up your originally assigned pairings?

No dude. Drop pairings from your assigned monthly schedule if you don't need the money or need time off, unpaid. You drop flying hours from your schedule and those hours are subtracted from your pay (hourly rate*hours dropped). You could also make up hours by picking up hours from another pilot who is dropping. Very flexible and fair system.

The following month, a new schedule will be assigned with no regard to hours dropped by the pilot in the previous month(s).
