Encore Captain Upgrades
Hi there guys and gals,
Just curious, how long is it taking currently to get into the L/H seat at Encore?
Cheers

Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
Depends where you fall in the matrix. If you're arriving with no DH8 time you'll need the 500 hours on type. At the moment that is probably taking anywhere 9-12 months depending on the monthly blocking.
Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
cheers for that.
I've got 700+ on the Q300. Would that count or is it Q400 time you're referring to?

Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
I think any DH8 model counts. Don't know if they're hiring direct entry captains at the moment as a number of FOs are about to meet the matrix criteria for upgrade. My guess for you would be 6 months max for left seat assuming you meet the TT requirement as well.
Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
Oh right, really helpful thanks!
I'm immigrating from New Zealand so the R/H transition would be preferable.
Is it looking like the fast movement between seats/types will keep going for a while yet?

th
Yes, the # of tails this time next year will be about double what exists today. They have aggressive expansion plans for the next few years.
Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
While we're on the topic I'm just curious as to what the matrix is? I understand it in principle but does anyone have more detail on the criteria? IE TT, MPIC, Time on type, etc.
Cheers

Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
I believe this is incorrect. IIRC, currently have 14 aircraft online. I think the plan is to have 16 online by the end of 2014 and deliveries slow to 6-8 new machines for 2015. Aggressive, yes. doubling the fleet next year, no.bythenumbers wrote:Yes, the # of tails this time next year will be about double what exists today. Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
I very much doubt Encore expansion will stop at 45 aircraft.
If I were a betting man, I'd say 75 tails by 2022.

Realitychex,
Where do you see mainline's fleet in 2022? Do you feel the 767 experiment isn't necessarily a "trial''?

Assuming one meets the Matrix requirements, can anyone actively flying with Encore speak to how fast/how many of these upgrades are occurring? With new A/C arriving all the time and some flow starting now to 737, there must be some significant left seat upgrades. As I understand it, upgrading to left seat is also not a requirement for flow to mainline, once your number comes up, you're in, correct?bythenumbers wrote:Depends where you fall in the matrix.
