Harrier Flypast
As many of you are aware, the British government is withdrawing the Harrier from military service. Here is a photo of the final flypast over the House of Commons.

Yeah, well political correctness has ruined it for all.
My family is from the UK, and includes servicemen from that era ... and there were a lot of stories about those types of hyjinks going on. Of course the best stories equaled career suicide for some of the best 'characters'.
Unfortunately the RAF ain't what it used to be in the good ol days. And that's a shame, because the had some real good times!

The RAF Harriers where used to protect Canadian airspace after 9-11.
Who and What will protect Canadian airspace after these cutbacks ?
Maybe uncle Nigels emporium of used submarines will start selling old airplanes as well

G'day 2R
Just curious where you are getting your intel. Outside of Harrier GR 7's deploying to Goose Bay for low-level ground support training and taking part in Exercise Maple Flag at 4 Wing Cold Lake, that's about it.

Re: Harrier Flypast
Somewhere there is a very good TV interview with the training officer that was responsible for introducing the Harrier to new NATO pilots. As the Harrier was a single place aircraft (originally) don't know if that changed? The pilots were from various NATO countries and there were, of course, various degrees of success. Typical dry English humor was injected throughout the interview and the one statement the training officer that stood out was: "The American pilot proved without a doubt that Newton's Theory was correct!"
I saw the program a few years ago.....I didn't look on U-Tube or anywhere else for it.
