"We don't take Canadian money" says Tim Horton's
I am addicted to Tim Horton's coffee. My monthly tab is around $150, as I have around 3 large coffees a day and they must be Timmy Ho's.
Entering the States for training, I was apprehensive about spending the next 11 days fighting crippling lack-of-caffeine migraines, but I figured I'd just drink whatever coffee is available.
Cut to the present tense...
I am driving toward the airport this morning, and what should I see but Tim Horton's on Airport Highway #2 and Holloway Road. I'm like "Yessss!". I pull up and get in line for my beloved coffee. I check my pockets and notice that all I have in cash is a Canadian $5 bill. No problem, right? I mean Tim Horton's is a Canadian icon. They show ads on TV about homesick travellers who order the actual brewing equipment so they can get a taste of the true north strong and free.
I pull up to the drivethrough window. "I'm sorry, we don't take Canadian money." She then helpfully offered to let me pay with a credit card, something I can't even do in Canada.
Seriously, what the hell is up with that? I not very far south of the Canadian border, so it's not like they haven't heard of the country.
I am honestly really pissed about this and I want to know why Tim Horton's, a symbol of Canada as much as the RCMP, doesn't take Canadian money in the US if they take US money in Canada.

You were in the USA, need I say more? From what I hear, the United States of America is the only country in the world!!
I would like to see what would happen if a Canadian Tim Horton's refused to take US $$.

If riding in a plane is FLYING. Then Riding in a boat is SWIMMING!

Sulako :
Hey what have you been smoking lately? Hell you are brighter than to get all upset over such a trivial issue as that, besides Canadian money is not really recognized anywhere on earth outside Canada.
Hows the rest of your life going? Drop by the next time you are in Nanaimo I should be home in about six weeks from now and I'll take you for a Tim Hortons.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Timmies may have been a CDN icon, but it aint no more. It's U.S. owned and regardless, 99% of americans have been pretty well brainwashed, Canada is nonexistent - they've been so dumbed down they couldn't tell you what the 49th parallel is. Don't ya ever watch ric mercer's interviews?
I'm givin er all she's got..
Yes Swede. The USA is our enemy.

I'd have to say it was Pierre Trudeau... Mulroney just sold us out and went to work for Amex.hazatude wrote:[ The last, "Leader" this country had was Brian Mulroney.
Sully if your that upset about it, ask Haz to talk to R.Joyce about it, or better yet next time your in the Hammer talk to him yourself...he used to hold controlling intrest and I'm sure still has a voice. Not that anything would get done about it, but it'd be interesting to see what he'd say.

Sometimes I think it's a shame when I get feelin' better when I'm feelin no pain.
I'm leaning to the right so far that I'm going to fall into the Atlantic.
