Can you explain to me how other airlines such as Westjet, Canjet, Jazz and Air Canada do not require the 1000 hours 705? I am not sure how airline insurance works but if 4 out of 5 can insure new hires without it I would assume that Harmony's insurance policy shouldn't be radically different. I was thinking it was more of a weeding requirement than for insurance....

Not true, to my understanding. The time requirements have to do with training. If a pilot has jet time with a 705 operator then it is a Level C program, otherwise it is Level D. That and the potential for quick upgrades.boeingboy wrote:Yes - but their insurance would be through the roof - if they could get it at all.
Thats what drives the minimum times.
Lastly, they list it as a requirement because they can get it I guess. The question will be for how long?

A 1000 hours with a 705 operator is considered a high experience level for a quick upgrade to the left seat of a 757!? Think I will avoid flying on Harmony.Arthur Q wrote:No not in the near future. Because of "expected" rapid growth the need for quick upgrades requires pilots to be of a fairly high experience level.
