Passenger bluetooth devices on your airline

Hi,

Doing some research on a new set of over-ear headphones for music. The thing is, I want them to be wireless.

What are your feelings about passengers having potentially hundreds of devices on board that have short range radio-frequencies in the form of bluetooth?

I have read in a press release from the FAA that bluetooth is acceptable seeing as the device is not transmitting a cellular signal, -https://www.faa.gov/news/press_releases ... wsId=15254
but am wondering if anyone has any further info or input on any restricting CARS regulations that would prevent me getting a sick new set of headphones.

The range/power on BT is fairly low...SHOULDN'T be a problem.

Bluetooth output is 2.5mW compared to 2W for a cell phone.

I would expect it's power at range to be 1/800th of a cellphone...so if you sit in the back of the plane you'll be fine

Never had a issue with Bluetooth, even right near the instrument panel.

Bose sells Bluetooth equipped headsets for pilots. So I wouldn't imagine it being an issue.

I listen to music with bluetooth while flying... in my headset as I'm sure many other airline pilots do as well.

I also have a pair of Jabra wireless headphones I use when flying in the back and it's never been an issue, or addressed by anyone.

Anyone using a bluetooth noise reduction headset? I use a wired noise reduction (earbud) set when flying and bluetooth on the ground.

Zulu 2, noise cancelling with Bluetooth, music while flying is nice on longer legs.

It's honestly the best flying related purchased I've ever made (Zulu2). Nothing beats it.
