Headset plug

Post by Ironman2909 »

Got a quick question about headset plug. I know in the military we use the U174 single plug to connect our headset.

I'm wondering if Boeing and Airbus are using both the 5 pin XLR plug in their commercial planes. Can someone shed light on this matter.

Much appreciated! :prayer:

The few Boeings I have seen have old school 2 prong GA plugs.

Most Airbii I've seen have 5 pin XLR but a couple had the GA plugs.

In Boeings for sure, and I expect Airbus is the same, the double phono jack setup is standard. The 5 pin connector is a customer ordered option.

Check! I know the 5 pin XLR gives electric current to the headset that is plugged. I guess it came out to feed the different ANR headset out there.

Thanks guys!
