Yes there are people from Vancouver, the prairies and the east coast who commute.

FWIW, we have many commuters, but the schedule doesn't lend itself to commuting. With some longer legs coming up, the blocks may get more efficient and more conducive to a commute, but don't expect to have a stellar lifestyle commuting at maple.

Any news about hiring for the next few months? Especially with the upcoming addition of 5 E175?

Sky Regional Airlines is urgently looking to recruit experienced Direct Entry Embraer Captains at the Toronto and Montreal crew bases. Applicants must have an Airline Transport Pilot License with a minimum of 5000 total flying hours. Applicants must also have at least 1000 hours Pilot in Command on Transport Category Turbojet or Turboprop EFIS/FMS aircraft. Preference will be given to those having experience flying into the high density U.S.A. airports that Sky Regional Airlines serves.

Geez, is NOBODY upgradeable? Or is the movement to AC THAT crazy..

I commuted the entire time I was at Sky, was very difficult. Some months were good (12 days at home) some months were horrible (6 days at home). Schedules were inconsistent. The managers (cp, dfo, and vp flight ops) are really great guys, they try hard to help but when you roll the dice on your bid all bets are off.

As for what I was making, about $90K working no sdo's but often in forced overtime because the blocks could get pretty high. Complain all you want about the wages, it's still pretty good. The big thing is the experience opens a lot of doors if AC isn't your end game. It also opens a big door if AC is your end game. Because of the time I spent at Sky I now have a fantastic job, I'm home more than most people, and the money is great. I owe that to sky regional for providing me with great experience, and I never once couldn't pay the bills. It had its highs and lows, some months great others horrible, but it's a job and that's the case with most of them.

I agree, that's not too bad for a FO, but I think Ethiopian pays a little more.

That's Captain pay. F/O will never make that much. Usual routes DFW, ORD, DCA, LGA, PHL, NEW, BOS. very busy. New routes ATL, JAX, YYT. More to come

You don't have to be a senior FO to make that. Year 4/5 320 FO over 100k...
Senior 320 probably makes close to 140k on the 320.
All this working 16 days or less.

What's "good" about SR is not the wages, it's the fact you can get left seat on a Q400 with about 3000 hours and even left seat emj with barely 4000 hours. These types of hours used to get you a 704 captain job just a few years ago at 60 or 70k a year for a small operator.. Now SR offers captain on a very nice 705 aircraft for about 90k/year with those same hours.
For someone with 3 or 4000 hours, it's an interesting proposition.

Edited to add: I don't work and have never worked for SR..
