EVAS accident.

Post by proper »

Sounds like injuries weren't too bad so far thankfully. Fingers crossed.

Jazz Q4 down in YEG.

EVAS down in Gander.

Hmmm, granted two different scenarios, but with (what the public will see as) similar endings. (Better?)

Glad in the end everyone walked away. It'll be interesting to see, when the dust settles, what exactly caused to this.

How are they similar? Do you mean that in both accidents the props disintegrated?

On one the main gear collapsed on landing and on the other they landed hard on the nosewheel and it sheared off. No comparison.

The only similarity I see is that they were airplanes and something happened. I wonder if you would like to add the Gimli Glider to your list...

If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike.

Lol well at least there is some action on the post...my oh my.

Similar in that they both had a gear collapse and resulting prop shed into the fuselage AND they were both Air Canada Express carriers.

To the general public, that's pretty coincidental. Otherwise, as I previously stated, very different accidents.

But carry on telling me what I don't know. Tsk tsk tsk, lol.

 :goodman:

Report is out

http://tsb.gc.ca/eng/rapports-reports/a ... 6a0041.asp

I wonder about experience and fatigue. Captain had less than 2400hrs total, and upgraded less than 6 months prior. He was nearing his 30 and 90 day flight time limits (109.4 and 297.9 respectively). 6th leg of the day at night, terrible weather and approaching 11 duty hours. Legally he wasn't "fatigued" under current Canadian laws, but but it does raise questions when it would have been illegal for him to fly in other countries. Both fatigue and limited experience will reduce someone's decision making abilities. He clearly had concerns as he was talking to both the operations manager and chief pilot before departure.

Da by's went and crashed again. Stalled above the runway and smacked the tail.
But don't worry, these by's are keen. And knew if they told anyone... There would be delays! And 'Keep er on sched' is the motto at EVAS!
How safe do you feel knowing one crew damaged an airplane, and another crew came and flew if 3 more times before maintenance was considered?
No wonder AC wants their name painted over.

Come on now Sam. EVAS is far from perfect but you know that's not how it happened. Do you know who the captain was on that flight? If it can happen to him it can happen to anyone.
