Some compnies now paying out our training bonds to have us join?

Post by daniele.fix »

Hey y'all,

With the amount of hiring going on lateley, many airlines are just scooping people up. There are however many guys that are bonded in current positions that can't make the switch to a new job without owing lots of money to their current employer.

I heard a rumour that there are some companies in Canada that will pay out an applicant's training bond (a person they'd be interested in hiring obviously) to have he/she come over and work for them?

Any credibility on this/people you may know that have had their previous bond paid out by their soon-to-be employer?

I had that happen in 2006 when there was no shortage so I suppose it's perfectly possible now. Some managers out there are perfectly capable of doing math and if you negotiate something that makes financial sense to them, they'll do it.

I can verify that . has asked their crew who have already moved on to the regionals to come back. They have put up an offer of $10,000 signing bonus. They need Captains to run their operation. The law of Supply and Demand never fails!

I know from a trustworthy source that it does happen yes. You'll have to ask though, I don't think anyone advertises it.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship
