Any news on the fatigue regulations recently?
I haven't heard much since summer of 2017. All I see now is ATAC vague scare tactics on ads threatening canceled flights unless their petition is signed. Nothing on the news, etc.
Any word on this?

Maybe in 2081, airline lobby is too strong and I would be very surprised to see those new rules in effect anytime soon...

About 6 months after an airline crash that is attributed to fatigue. That's what happened in the states. Canada's government is too dumb to learn from the mistakes from others. We have to kill our own citizens and learn by ourselves the hard way.

We should all refuse to go work for companies lobbying against the new regulations. In the current hiring climate, that might actually work....goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 4:46 pm About 6 months after an airline crash that is attributed to fatigue. As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Let's agree on a date when all of the unionized pilots in the country will set the parking brake.
Ok, now you want to talk to us?

Need to get the non-union shops on board too
Re: Any news on the fatigue regulations recently?
Everyone should, the days of 14hr/8 leg days, especially on 705 aircraft need to end.
I wonder if alpa could manage a mass fight against this if they set up shop with Sky.

I'm sure they could, but a nation wide strike mandate would probably be bad PR and distract from the real issue. The public would view ALPA as the bad guy because their flight got cancelled.
ALPA is already doing decent lobbying in Ottawa, but the operators are too. Maybe if the operators spent their lobbying budget on dealing with the implementation of the fatigue regs, we would be better off.

It is expected that the new regulations will be published in CG2 by the summer with a two year implementation for 705 and a 4 year implementation for everyone else.
That’s from a March briefing from TC.

Published in their current proposed form, or are they being watered down again?
