AC pilot salaries now?
Hi guys, curious what a 20 year plus 787 pilot is making now and if any had to drop down to a smaller airplane? I’m assuming the pilots are sharing the time so there are minimum layoffs .
Thanks again
Thanks again

Re: AC pilot salaries now?
Per day?
Per week?
doesn't matter, I'll do it for nothing
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
@55h a 787capt is pulling only about 15500/month.... Was about 22500 at 80h
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
Last year he was paid around $12,000,000 - but there's all sorts of additional little perks that add up as well, but you don't need to know about that.
Let's just ballpark things, and call Calin a "working stiff"; 40 hour week, working roughly 50 weeks a year... Works out to $6,000/hour.

Don’t get me wrong, that’s a lot of money but I guarantee he is working way more than 40 hours per week and if CCAA is avoided, he will have earned every single penny in my book.7ECA wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 5:33 pmLast year he was paid around $12,000,000 - but there's all sorts of additional little perks that add up as well, but you don't need to know about that.

CR turns 65 in September.
The TRZ acquisition would have been his swan song. He could take a victory lap probably would have planned an exit in 2021 with AC sitting on record revenues and record profits.
Now it is likely 3 years to revenue recovery and the TRZ acquisition looks more like a bitter pill than a stroke of financial and strategic brilliance.
Will he stick around until 2023? Possible but it won’t be the script that he had originally written for himself or for AC.

Re: AC pilot salaries now?
And then you folks all wonder why nobody listens to the crybaby pilots whining about poor wages...
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
Imagine how upset you'd be if they were actually paid what they were worth like our neighbours south of the border.goldeneagle wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:32 pmAnd then you folks all wonder why nobody listens to the crybaby pilots whining about poor wages...
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
And we are talking about a 21-23 year seniority position at AC! Lifetime of eating shit before MAYBE getting to that point. It's worth every dollar and then some
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
Unfortunately I think those salaries south of the border of which we have been so envious in the past couple of years may be in for a haircut. We might need to just try to hold on to what we have in Canada.

Don't get your knickers in a knot
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
Anyone whining that 180k is too much doesn't get it... and hasn't seen the tax bill, let alone that of the guys at 300K.
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
I think it is terrible that most pilots don't make anywhere near that, considering the responsibility and efforts made to get there. As we know too well, average salaries and conditions for pilots are not very good, but there is always that carrot... Although CR is overpaid - those CEO types are all replaceable - I'd do it for $500 - anybody flying and getting big bucks at airlines deserves full marks in my books. Most have paid a lot of dues to get there, don't kid yourselves.
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
A 10 year 787 FO is making ~$200k/yr. About $9k/month after tax, with an additional $1k per dium on top. So it definitely doesn't take 20 years to reach the decent money at AC. (this is of course at a normal 75-80 hours/month)
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
Actually everyone knows what the tax bill is because the 300k a year pilot pays the exact same taxes as the 60k a year pilot on the first 60k of income.
Funny how people complain about taxes when it's sliced the same way for everyone.
Re: AC pilot salaries now?
What about the other 240K. What are you saying?
