Flair Reciprocal JS for Furloughed pilots extended
We've extended access to the reciprocal JS policy for furloughed pilots until March 1st 2021. Please contact your JS coordinator for further details
Dear fellow Jumpseat Coordinator,
Flair Airlines (FAL) understands that these are difficult times for the whole aviation industry. FAL is not exempt from the dire situation the industry and the pilots are going through. FAL believes that during these times we should endeavour to help each other as much as possible.
For these reasons, FAL is amending the Jumpseat policy. These changes will become effective immediately and apply until August 1st, 2020. The sections of the policy that have been amended are listed below, all other requirements and considerations in the original policy remain unaltered.
• Old policy: Only licensed pilots who are actively employed by approved carriers may list for travel under this Program. This program is for personal travel purposes only and is not to be used for deadheading or for any other business purposes.
• New policy: Only licensed pilots who are actively employed or have been furloughed / laid off on or after March 15th, 2020, by approved carriers may list for travel under this Program. This program is for personal travel purposes only and is not to be used for deadheading or for any other business purposes.
OLD Policy:
The RJP pilot must be able to provide:
• RAIC
• Other airline ID
• Passport and any supporting documents required for international travel....
NEW Policy:
The RJP pilot must be able to provide:
• RAIC or Pilot’s licence and a copy of the furlough / lay off notification
• Other airline ID (if available)
• Passport and any supporting documents required for international travel....
At Flair Airlines we hope that this helps our fellow pilots, whether active or not at this time, to Jumpseat and get where they need to be. Please distribute these changes to your pilot group as soon as possible.

Re: Flair Reciprocal JS for Furloughed pilots extended
Classy move by the folks at Flair! Are other airlines offering this as well? I assume the proof of furlough comes in the form of a letter from HR?
Re: Flair Reciprocal JS for Furloughed pilots extended
2020 the year when flair cares more about AC pilots than AC does!
Re: Flair Reciprocal JS for Furloughed pilots extended

Very classy. I don't use it, but I'm sure there are many that do. Thanks.

Meanwhile WestJet cancelled the standby policy for furloughed employees after the WJAMEC played hardball during negotiations.
They lost the layoff protections and everyone (who are furloughed) lost travel privileges.
