Check the "press release" section of the website for all the latest destinations being added. I think the last one was L.A. 3 times a week from YYZ....

Thought I heard about the Crew getting into coffin corner not long ago, and the plane lost control...
After hearing what kind of experience some of the crews have, I'm not sure I'd like to have any of my family onboard. :(

Hmmm.......that's a hard one to believe don't you think? I'm no MD 83 expert here, but modern FMS systems and AT's make it near impossible to exceed the range of your High and Low speed buffet's.
I do know for a fact that their Op's Spec's specify that of the two pilot's there will always be a minimum level of experience. With a mix of ex-Air Canada, ex-Canadian, ex- Cathay Pacific and so on I think they'll do quite well once they iron out the kinks of opperating a new airline.
We're all working in the same industry here......give your fellow aviators the credit and support they deserve as PROFESSIONALS......

I don't know the MD83 either. Can someone advise on whether they have FMS A/T etc.

I, too, have heard of several incidents which, if true, would be very concerning.

It was mentioned above that they are financially doing well. How does one know? They are privately held and one only knows what ML tells everybody. Not sure I would believe alot of what he has to say.

I'd have to agree with the posts above; if a a beech can almost hit a fuel truck (something that isn't that uncommon) and make the Canwest Global 6pm news I'd think something as serious as a high speed buffet would be all over the press. There'd be lawsuits from traumatizied pax looking for money for mental anguish.

Either you're kidding, or you're going to need to look for a new career because you are rediculously stupid. Yup a few MD-80's have got aircanada sunk. Please tell me it's a joke.

Ever read Handling the Big Jets? Written from the 70s... talks all about stick pushers. Anything with artificial feel needs something like a shaker or a pusher.
I've done some looking through databases but can't seem to find anything but this.
http://www.md80.net/yabbse/index.php?bo ... readid=143

I don't know if this link will work, but read it and scroll down to the section about the jetsgo post being deleted.
Since you seem to know something about this, can you post a link that proves this is more than a rumour?

Pushers, shakers, ehh... never flown a MD-80 something so in truth, wouldn't really know.

But in any case, do you have proof the incidents you mentioned happened?
