He explains the BC Wildfire Service places what’s referred to as a “no-fly zone” in the vicinity of the fire. That zone is also right above the instrument approach into Kelowna International.

It doesn't matter if the conditions are smoke or fog, if you can't fly an instrument approach into Kelowna, you're not going to be landing there when the visibility is 3/4 mile. What exactly does that have to do with the Canadian airline sector?

Yeah, if you decide to fly THROUGH the fire . Go around it!


The airlines ask for support and then they abandon communities .. time for open skies !

So airlines can fly in fog but not smoke? More of the same from the Canadian airline sector
