cj and skylink
little birdy inside the cage tells me that the long awaited and much debated sale of skylink express to cargojet is all but done and will be announced early may.
there has been a few layoffs in yyz/yhm on the regional side, yqm and yul as well.
sit down and hold on.....

CJ is not a Skylink customer (at least not the entire time I worked there).
Skylink flies (or flew) for DHL, Fedex and UPS. Any flights for CJ were Ad Hoc charters or covering the UPS YQT run when the CJ Hunny was mechanical.
If the loads on the runs are smaller it is because the public is not sending the volume of freight.bullitt wrote:Skylink's loads are getting smaller and smaller
Pretty sure SKK is not paid for volume.

Interesting CJ just recalled some laid off S/O's to go to the regional side and 1 or to back to sitting sideways.
CJ Feeds Skylink planes.CJ is not a Skylink customer (at least not the entire time I worked there).

Contrary to popular belief...the avcanada user name "I am Birddog" is the only one I have used for the last 5 years. Period. However...I find it amusing when I check some of the "new user" IP's on this thread and which office their posts are coming from. ....ahhh...life never is boring.
If this were to happen....IF this were to happen, you folks @ PEAir/Cargo jet/Ex-Georgian or what ever you want to call yourselves now-a-days, will be very fortunate.
ANNNNNNNND here's why;
The drivers & wrenchers in the trenches working for Skylink are ALL top shelf great bunch of guys. This includes one terrific young lady in Chatham that without her, the day to day operations would not run as smooth.
Any empoyer that is responsible for the people they employ is a employer worth working for. Both companies can learn from one another should this merger/sale happen. I hope both sides make it a painless, friendly integration.
Best of luck to all y'all...I'm off to Tibet to raise some goats and marry my mail-order Tibetan to be wife, "Shelly".
I'M FINALLY LIVIN' THE DREAM

Re: cj and skylink
The SKK Caravans seem to have relocated across the ramp in YHM and a few YHM rampers I spoke to this weekend called them Cargojet Caravans. Apparently the deed is done?
Re: cj and skylink
nobody has been talking about the deal since a while... so lets steer the pot! Skylink will buy cargojet and they will paint a big pink elephant on the planes.

Re: cj and skylink
Well I hope they have a $50,000 cash up front bond so I can get hired and nobody else will!
Re: cj and skylink
What do the financial numbers @ SKK look like. I don't think there is a bond. Just sign your life away on the ............ line and begin your tour of duty until you can't take any more........
Re: cj and skylink
cjyhmguy, what is the birdie saying now? I haven't heard a peep!
