Oh boo-hoo. It takes sacrifice at both ends to make a relationship work regardless as to whether you're an airline pilot or some schlub 9-5er. My wife's grandmother married a Canadian soldier in 1940. They went a few years before they were reunited in England and returning to Canada. What the hell happened to sacrifice and perseverance? If I can't go away for a few weeks to pay the bills and avoid exchanging DNA with a flight attendant and she can't deal with a little distance, then we both deserve a studio apartment filled with lean cuisine frozen entrees.
\\

Above that...
Marriage is an important part of getting ahead: lets people know you're not a homo; married guy seems more stable; people see the ring, they think at least somebody can stand the son of a bitch; ladies see the ring, they know immediately you must have some cash and your cock must work.

I don't know the history of the writer but he sounds like someone who couldn't cut it in the industry and now feels the need to shit all over it "because he never wanted to be a pilot anyway."

If I remember correctly D.L (the author) is a former C-0130 pilot in the RAF.

This is such subjective drivel.....

I'm going on my tenth year marriage anniversary...I've been a pilot the entire time.

So thank you, and f* you (to the detractors)

Marriage my not be what our ancestors prepared us for..........................however, this is much better.

just be honest, communicate, and accept....................................................................................................

other than that.....I love you all, and good luck

This industry will not ruin a good marriage - but it will kill a bad one in record time...that's not a bad thing!
