Anyone have any info on when this service is starting?

Last I heard flights start in May. It is not a sked as per say, only providing the lift for a tour operator to bring people to Canada, don't think there will be ticket sales for Canada to Japan.

I wonder if it's for Jacques Kavafian's "Maple Fun Tours"? If so, wouldn't this mean that Timmy Morgan and Enerjet didn't get the work and their rumoured 767 application is moot?

Meanwhile JAL is dropping 170 pilots. Not a good time to be in the airline business over there.

I thought it was an aircraft lease (pilots included) to an already existing airline. Same as their Indonesian contract with Garuda.

No, looks like the Japan contract is to provide lift for a tour operator, nothing to do with another airline.
