Question about a Pardon on my criminal record

Post by Firebird0203 »

Good Day,
I am currently getting my commercial pilot licence and in my past have had a Misdemeanor A for possession of drug paraphernalia while crossing the boarder with some friends, I have recently got a pardon for this, I was wondering if you could tell me if this will cause problems with getting an airline job.

I am not a lawyer, but I think the wording on most applications is "please tell us about any criminal convictions for which you have not received a pardon". I am not a lawyer, but I think a pardon means it's like it never happened.

Good luck, and next time try to remember not to bring the bong with you on your next roadtrip to the USA :p

Make sure you can get a red pass. I know someone who had charges dismissed who had a difficult time with a red pass (not even sure if he received one).

From the security assessment form for a recent Canadian government contract:
"If you have been detained, arrested in the past or the subject of a criminal action in any country including Canada, specify the occurrence, provide details of the detention or arrest and reason for criminal action, city, province or state and country, date and occurrence status."
Pardoned or not, they want the details. This is a clearance required by the US to work in their locations or on their contracts.
