Oh wait, we're cooking for people here? Oh- well maybe you'd better hold off until you find someone a bit more qualified. If you're one of those guys who's happy to eat the same thing day in and day out as long as you know what's in it, I'm your man though.

Instant oatmeal for breakfast. Bologna sandwich for lunch, fresh fish with fried potatoes for supper. Rinse and repeat?

A job ad posted by "sheep hunter". A job helping out around a camp with more fishing than flying, but still get to play around in a 180 once in a while....

sounds bloody awesome.

I didn't see the posting either but it sounds to me like a straight up honest post for a fun (hard working) job that involves some flying. This does NOT sound like he is waving the flying carrot in front of a 200hr wonder to get some grunt work done. Hell... I'm half tempted to leave my medium twin turbine FO job for it.... but I have a feeling I'm friends with a competitor sheep camp and they wouldn't like that.

I would however be curious about the details just for fun. I'll e-mail you.

It didn't seem like a bad job posting when I seen it. Like above, it seemed sort of tempting if one could escape from life for a bit. I can cook some mean baked beans too, they help keep bears away.

Not so Much so.... Dissapointed, that is!

OK, It's officially a done deal. I would like to thank all of you that had interest, sent resumes and inquiries and especially to those members here that supported my ad and the reasoning I had for posting it. Unfortunately it took longer than I had expected to make a decision of which I apologize in taking so long but I have two reasons. The first being that as of today I still do not know the exact start date but have it down to within 4-5 days. I just confirmed my final group of the season earlier this week to know my shut down will be Oct.01 as anticipated. The second reason, was the overwhelming amount of quality applications. Most coming from Av Canada "followers" or referred to buddies of members here. For the past week or so I had it down to the person I selected (with a ton of northern & Arctic Aviation expereince) that enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of a small kitchen and another person with equal, quality northern experience but with running large, commercial "camp" kitchens but not aviation. I found the person that I was looking for thanks to Av Canada or maybe moreso, he found me from AvCanada. So, I am still not sure my ad in the classifieds was not valid in that I was truly looking for a "pilot" that could cook, enjoyed the outdoors and preferrably in a position that they did not need to pad their PIC time on my little 180. I am very happy with this outcome. Thanks.
