It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry"

Isn't this a Don Henley- free zone??
Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

Any news?
And... any news about crew and a/c?
Where and when?
Could not find any reference on online news sources
Used much of last month to compile a report on my website on my visit last summer to Yellowknife; spent most of the 3 days with Buffalo Aws.
Hope things are not as bad as it would seem (otherwise it woul dbe on the news, right?)

Have you seen Greenland? Believe me, it's landscape makes the Rockies look like a well trimmed Golf Course! Not exactly a hospitable place for filming.. wrote:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408828/locations

WOW.....
...looks like Joe has four good engines and props as spares if he decides to leave the 4 sitting there as a landmark.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Oh bugger. Same plane, intact in YTH a few months back:

Well Stroka... the DC-4's cockpit is bolted on at the production bulkhead..... and is realitivley easy to remove, and can be replaced. Joe actually has a couple of DC 4 cockpits hanging around (and yes, 1 is on its way to YZF). As for the airframe, it did not obtain a single ripple in the wings or the fusulage aft of the cockpit and is probably good for another 30,000 hrs. Granted it will be a big job, and not easy givin its location but PSH has more of a history that any other DC 4 flying these days, and I doubt Joe will just let it sit.
If you reasearch IQM which Borek ripped out the nose gear and bottom half of the airframe to the back of the baggage pit (many years ago), you will see that yes, the front end of a DC 4 can be replaced with some work, as IQM is currently running to Carat almost everyday.
So, don't be so quick to say the plane is toast, or that Joe will just cut it up and ship it home, cause you just might be suprised one day.
As for how I know, I have been to Carat, and saw the damage first hand, and yes, I work for Joe

"New Nose eh....where from? And how do you know this?? You think its going to be that easy to get that Aircraft back to base after a hit like that?? And of course you know that the airframe is written off, Nope, bet ya didnt know that one!! The A/C has over 70 000hrs on, Noses arent even transferrible what are you thinking???
You obviously have no Idea how an airplane gets put back together, they are gonna cut it up, ship it back unless a barge cna make its way or through some ice road, but no icre road this year at least."
All hail stroka, his aviation/northern knowledge is truely amazing. Please tell us more of what can't be done, or about the barge that goes to the interior of the N.W.T. or perhaps your vast knowledge of ice roads. It must be quite a burden knowing soo much.
