Trust Fund for fallen Conair co-pilot's family

Post by kjt750 »

Hello,

Let me please begin by extending my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Capt Tim Whiting.

I am a fellow aviator, and cousin of the Co-Pilot Brian Tilley.

He sadly left behind his beautiful wife, Annette and their 4 gorgeous daughters. It is a sad reality at a time like this that money has to be considered, but it is a fact of life. Annette has set up a trust fund to ensure the girls don't miss any opportunities in life because of this truly tragic event.

Anything you can do to help will go a long way for those wonderful little girls.

I thank you for your time, and please fly safe.

Regards,

Keith Tilley

The fund will be administered by HSBC.
Donations can be deposited in any HSBC bank branch
or sent directly to:
Adrienn Palinkas
HSBC Mutual Funds Advisor
10250 101 St. NW
Edmonton, AB T5J 3P4
Cheques should be made out to "Tammy Annette Tilley in Trust"

A very commandable gesture on your part and completely understandable.

Despite the terrible tragedy that your family is going through right now, life will go on for those of you that are left mourning.
The least we can do as a big flying family, is to somehow express our gratitude for what he was doing when he passed away.

One way to do it, is to provide some sort of financial support to his family... something that he would be doing but sadly can't anymore.

RIP

Your message has been printed and a cheque will be mailed tomorrow.

To the rest of this board: Put yourselves in the shoes of a widow trying to raise four daughters for a minute, wouldn't you feel better that at least some of the cost of their post secondary education was not resting on your shoulders?
Send whatever you can!
The cost of a night out, given the benefit of coumpound interest, is staggering!

May I suggest getting a Paypal account set up for the fund? It will be a lot easier for pilots to make donations as they might be in a remote location far from an HSBC branch or working a busy schedule preventing them from mailing a cheque.

Having lost my father in my teen years and experiencing life with a widow, I will be donating what I can to this trust fund and I suggest that every one else, who is able to do the same!

I will go to the closest HSBC as soon as I get back from vacation, consider it done; though I also agree with a paypal account for people in remote areas.

Rest in peace Tim & Brian :(

Dear kjt750,

Rudy makes a very good point. If an email address can be provided for e-cheques, and/or a paypal account, it will make it far easier for those who wish to help to do so.

Deepest sympathies to Brian's girls from a fellow widow.

Thanks very much for the support, AND the advice. I will see what I can do about setting up a Pay Pal account.

We've got a collection going at work. I plan on giving some to that. He was a familiar voice (if only more pilots were chipper like him...) on our frequencies around EG centre. It's a truly sad situation. I've got 4 young sons of my own at home. I would hate for my wife to become a widow.

Keith,

I went in to my local HSBC and asked to put money in to "Tammy Annette Tilley in Trust" and they said for my safety to make sure they put the money in the proper Trust I needed more information. A Trust number or even Annette's birthday but I left with my money still in hand. I would really like to donate, Brain was a good friend I can't even begin to imagine what those girls are going threw its hard enough loosing a friend, if you have any advice or additional information i would appreciate it.

Thanks

I'm still reeling from this.

Brian was a collegue and a good friend. I'm just giving this info the the McEwan's Esso desk at XD so pax and pilots see the info. Let's make sure his wife and girls are not forgotten once this fades from the evening news and newspapers. A few of his friends have already been talking about an annual fund raiser. Stay tuned.

Godspeed, my friend.

This is truly a tragic event that left a family without a husband and father.
Anything we can do, I am sure will help.

A Pay Pal Account is the best way to go, Keith.

There is some urgency in setting this up, in this fast moving world.

So I stand corrected. I went into the West end of edmontons HSBC location and they were more then accommodating. All I had to say is I wanted to put some money into Tammy Annette Tilley's trust and that was that. I hope I didn't discourage any of you from contributing with my last post. I will be back to contribute again.

Thanks for all the comments, and particularly the paypal advice.

I know it has taken a while, but if you wish to donate via paypal, please send the money to abtilley@hotmail.com

Attaboy, Keith Thanks for doing that!!

I takes less than a minute to effect a transaction if you have a Pay Pal account already, and just a bit longer if you dont, and have to set one up.

I hope this has not fallen off people's radar screens yet...

Those girls will appreciate all the help we can muster, so let's get cracking fellow pilots...
