Re: Tradeport locking out Peninsulair at CYHM???
Does Tradeport have to buy out the Hangar at a fair market price or have they essentially stolen the hangar?

Re: Tradeport locking out Peninsulair at CYHM???
As a student I would be DEMANDING from tradeport allow them to get thier PTR's back NOW! If Not contact the media, and make a circus of it. It's the only way to get anything done these days when it come to big business.

Re: Tradeport locking out Peninsulair at CYHM???
Doesn't one have to wonder where any authority is in this matter? The City...Transport Canada (Pilot log books and PTR's, and other doc's they are more than interested in??), the media???? Tradeport is very, very, very, very well connected...I'd love to organize a protest!!! Couldn't be on Airport land...because of Tradeport...but, it could certainly be at the entrance...Hamilton International was an important training field...smaller airports just can't match it...and larger airports are simply too busy...Hamilton was just right and perfect for great training.

Does this include student records?hazatude wrote:Tradeport is allowing management access at 1000 this morning but it's supervised and only enough to get important files etc. out.
Re: Tradeport locking out Peninsulair at CYHM???
I believe by law, you're supposed to be able to get at least a copy of all information they have on you ...
I think I'll try and contact tradeport and see what I can do to get my stuff back ...

Re: Tradeport locking out Peninsulair at CYHM???
I have sent an e-mail showing my disgust and I hope that everyone else does the same. Even if you have never done business with Peninsulair, this is a major loss for Hamilton.
Re: Tradeport locking out Peninsulair at CYHM???
Who did you send that to ?
I think I'm going to send a note to my councillor, the mayor, the spec and mountain news ..
If enough people complain maybe the city will look a little more at what tradeport is doing ...
I also emailed tradeport to try to get my files out of there ...

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!
I have done the same.
The mayor, ALL councilors, the editors of both The Spec and Mountain News have received my thoughts on the subject.
The more voices heard, the better!

I'm sorry to hear of this, whenever we fly into CYHM Peninsulair has been most accomodating and quite reasonable on fuel, parking etc.
I just want to thank HAZ and his fellow co-workers for taking such good care of my airplane and our needs whenever we have visited.
All the best

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!
Any suggestions about how students should proceed to get their logbooks/PTRs?
Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!
Logbooks and PTRs will be released by Peninsulair but it's at Tradeport's discretion as to the timeframe.

What a bunch of pricks. How much longer is the CWH going to have before they're thrown out on their asses?

Re: Peninsulair locked out at CYHM by Tradeport!
I shot letters off to the Mayor and Council and just got a reply back from Dave Mitchel, the Glanbrook Councillor. Just a couple of concerns with his letter...Peninsulair owns the hangar...it just sits on leased land. It's the land lease not being renewed. Mr. Mitchell seems to think it's taxpayers money...where in fact it's not. Also the relocation plans??? The new location would be ready in...about...5 years...lol
snip>>>>Thank you for your email of concern. I know others in the MT Hope area may share your concerns as well. I just want to assure you that Tradeport is not forcing anyone out of business. It is there responsibility to attract new business both passenger and freight as well as to make every effort to retain business we already have. I have been informed that every effort has been made to renegotiate a new lease and relocate Peninsulair since the early spring of this year. There is business and development plans that show that the need for that area of the airport is needed for growth and development and the facilities are very old for today's industry. Any investment made into these buildings is owned by us the Taxpayers of Hamilton. Tradeport has brought us millions of dollars of investment to our airport both for international passenger and freight service. some of that success has been because it is a 24/7 airport.
Tradeport is also working with The Hamilton 447 Wing and War Plane Heritage to relocate the Wing for its members as well as what it means to our war vets.
We also have another airport in upper StoneyCreek and if Peninsular cannot work out a lease with Tradeport at our International airport I am more than willing to work to help them locate in StoneyCreek as I do not want to see us loose there years of business and service in our City.

Tradeport was aquired some years back by the YVR operator. You are dealing with a larger organization that one might think.Siddley Hawker wrote:What a bunch of pricks. How much longer is the CWH going to have before they're thrown out on their asses?

Lol ... that's what I thought too .. but on the other hand , he's the only one who replied.
I contacted Tradeport yesterday, and they're "working" with peninsulair to organize something
so that students can get their stuff back (Tradeport created a list, and to be on that list you need to contact tradeport directly).

I have my PTR at the school. All my private training was in that PTR. Do I still need that PTR if I wish to continute with any sort of training? I'm not in the province right now either.

Did you complete the PPL? If yes and you have a licence in your pocket, then NO.gonfly'n wrote:I have my PTR at the school. All my private training was in that PTR. Do I still need that PTR if I wish to continute with any sort of training? I'm not in the province right now either.
The next school will start a new PTR for the CPL.
Any other opinions?
