Something on a low ceiling approach into Dublin

Post by cncpc »

Kind of interesting. No idea what kind of aircraft, but must be commercial. Looks like coming in off the Bay.

Probably some Nigels.

Back in the 1980s I flew in and out of Dublin about 10 times a year via LHR on Aer Lingus 737s, a number of times we landed in fog that bad or worse....I remember one time , I was in 2F....looking out the window and I wasn't able to see the ground until 4-5 seconds before feeling the wheels touchdown...it was impressive.

"Stunning results"? Really. What a rubbish headline. LVP (Low Visibility Procedures i.e.. CatII/III) does not produce stunning looks on these Airbus pilots faces upon landing. Not even the uninformed SLF should be stunned. Impressed? OK, maybe I buy that but the only thing stunned (vs stunning  ) is this reporters headline.

So that's 200 / 1/2. Hmmmm. Quite a difference from 400 and 5.

Ya, I love the place, went to Trinity, lived in Dublin five years and two in Galway. There's a great Patrick Kielty standup vid about Osama bin Laden boarding a flight in Dublin and its not far off.
