Sorry you have been unable to escape xchox.
Maybe all the wonderfull things these former residents talk about are all gone now. "Oh, the [insert almost anything] back home are way better!"

Don't forget Kitchener-Waterloo, Brampton and Hanover. All are terrific spots, easy to get to and good food.

Isn't Edenvale the one with the funky circuit pattern ?
Newbie is scared.
I second the Brampton recommendation. Had nothing but good meals there. Hanover however, has not been kind to my digestive tract.

Really "the" doctor Who did your physical! Wow how much did he charge LOL
Seriously Owen Sound Billy Bishop airport. You'll be able to flight plan Billy Bishop to Billy Bishop and at the other end do the same thing only in reverse. Careful, it's confusing I know.

And then a culinary treat awaits you at the airport.q

When I lived in Toronto Jarvis street was a great place to find entertainment.
The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

I would say that as long as you are leaving Toronto any place you would go would be great.

I'd fly to Oshkosh Wisconsin. That's a fun place to hang out, lots of places to eat and if you time it right, more cool airplanes than you have ever seen in one place ever.

Re: Great Places to fly to from Toronto
The thread began with a junior pilot asking for destinations within easy reach of Toronto for, presumably, the "$100 hamburger". Oshkosh, while amazing, is good for a week during the dog days of summer... and takes longer than an hour to get there.
I'm surprised that not mentioned on the list of easy destination airports for lunches (breakfasts on weekends) is CYLS (Lake Simcoe Regional) at Barrie. Fabulous pizza, since the airport restaurant also provides pizza delivery to people living nearby, plus a range of other food selections.

Re: Great Places to fly to from Toronto
If you wanna treat your lady/man to a night out and not a 100$ hamburger, fly to Kingston (CYGK). 40$ cab fare both ways to get to downtown Kingston, which has quite a few very well reviewed restaurants. Money is just polymer.
Re: Great Places to fly to from Toronto
There's a handful of responses, ... meanwhile in Canada alone there are hundreds of "places to fly to from Toronto". What makes an aviation destination " Great" (or worth mentioning) ?
