What is a fair wage to fly singles and a light twin in the north, housing supplied?

You're saying that $500 per week with accommodation provided would be an unheard of wage for a Navajo or King Air pilot up north because it is so terribly low?

Sunk... I'm sorry for the facetious response.

It depends on what type of job it is. What locale? What equipment? What schedule? Contract/seasonal or full time? Entry level or experienced pilot?

In 2010 as a 500hr wonder I made $3000/month. Accommodation provided. North of 60 driving a 206. Straight salary regardless of hours flown. At the time it was the most money I had ever made. I'd say that's still a respectable wage for a 500hr driver providing accommodation is clean and sanitary.

Canadian pilots do not receive wages. All they get is a little cheese to go with their whine.

Fair wage would be considered $625-$775 a week.

That is a bit on the high end if the company is providing accomodations. Id suggest $2000 per month plus housing is a pretty decent start point. You have to consider that even a shack in the north is 1000$ a month to rent for the company...so something to consider when determining whether or not you are being paid a fair wage.

If no accomodations are provided, I agree with checkremarks. 2500-3000$ a month is a fair start point on a single and light twin.

My 2 cents.

I'd have to say, that's pretty fair. As long as you didn't have to cough up 10K before you start.

BUT the big question is...at those wages, will you have to pay to park your motorcycle in their lot?? :smt040

Free housing, 2 return airfare home per year, holiday payed out monthly, the 2 trips are a bonus and with pay. No pressure to fly when weather is bad. We pay for internet and food. Some side duties required, washing bosses truck is not one of them. Mainly in the office. I am offered the job at 2500 per month, and once ppc'd it goes up to 3000.00 with raises every 3 months. I took the job.

Well done! Congratulations, and all the best to you in your new position. That sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

What does the Hicks and Lawrence pay their 337 pilots these days to do fire patrol? That I know they pay for housing, if we can get an accurate number it would be comparable, minus the expensive food prices and General living in the north.

Sounds fair. Enjoy !
