King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
Good Day AvCanadians!!!
I'm looking for a prefereably experienced king air 100 person, both mechanics and pilots, or anyone as a matter of fact.. Need to ask a question regarding the engines, mainly, frozen power settings in mid air with your thoughts on to what may cause that....will give more specfics in the PM ... Please PM me
Thank You

fuel control heat not working/turned on? Just a guess
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
Only time I saw this before was when an engineer accidentally used the wrong lube on the FCU cam and follower ant springs were not strong enough to return the FCU to idle when throttle was brought back to idle.
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
Had this happen. All it was was a metal burr on the FCU that was jamming the power lever cable and had no control on it. If I remember correctly a frozen line would cause it to go to idle.
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
Requires new cables. Moisture gets in them and they freeze at altitude. Even has a statement in the maintenance manual not to add any type of lubrication.
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
If the lever won't move, moisture or unapproved lube in the cables, as 29 Ford says. If the lever is moving.. lots of oddball possibilities there.
I don't recall what aircraft now, but I have seen a procedure for purging cable assemblies with nitrogen to remove moisture. Won't remove dirt or any lubrication that may have been applied though.

Push-pull cables, banes of my existence...
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
Check that your FCU controls are not rubbing on your cowling.
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
Inkster, not a good answer.
Re: King Air 100 question....straight 100 model
I have seen it where there was a slight bend in the telescoping rod from the Condition Lever to the FCU. not a problem adding power, but it hung up on that kink as you powered back, in my case hanging at about 600 ft.lbs. eventually vibrations and swearing would get the power down to idle, but it took its sweet time! AMEs said they had seen it before...

Hmmmmm..........if AMEs have seen this why has a SDR (Service Difficulty Report) not been filed?????????????
This issue seems rather airworthiness related to me, I'm sure Beechcraft would like to know this happens.
