Foam party at YYZ north end
It appears to be the Air Transat hangar at the north end.
Thanks to Cdnpilot77 for the pics.
This happened, just now.

I hope it was necessary because I can't imagine it's cheap to blow that system.

Underneath all that foam is a very confused smoker whose cigarette just went out.

News is saying it was a system malfunction.
Looks like premature activation. Perfectly normal, can happen to anyone. Transat has nothing to be embarrassed about.

Re: Foam party at YYZ north end
Was trying to find a news story about this (strange that nothing came up), and found one from Eglin AFB when a welder set off the fire suppression system. There were planes in the hangar.
Re: Foam party at YYZ north end
I think you mean premature ejaculation, not activation.
On a side note, I thought the fire fighting foam was corrosive to aluminum airplanes.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Obviously, as the YYZ photos show the A310 in there has completely melted so it cannot be seen above the foam!oldtimer wrote:On a side note, I thought the fire fighting foam was corrosive to aluminum airplanes.
