This is great. A little long but you'll be glad that you took the time to watch it.

Re: Sled Driver
I clicked, thinking to myself that a few minutes of skimming something interesting might be worth my time on a day off...but I couldn't look away for a second. I might just watch it again when I need some perspective on life. I am glad I took the time to watch it. Thanks for that.

Ditto - I haven't cried that much from laughing in a long time.

Seldom do I watch motivational speakers, but that was 52 min and 40 seconds that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Great video!
I'm lucky enough to have a signed version of his book.

Re: Sled Driver
Great video!
I love his story about the time he was flying over Libya and gaddafi's wall of death or whatever it was called. He threatened to shoot down any foreign plane overflying Libya.
He had some new missile that hadn't been tested against the sr-71 yet, they were doing a photo reconissance mission and sure enough once over Libya they launched missiles at him.
He punched the throttle and got the hell out of there, out ran the missiles, his navigator Walter spoke up and said shouldn't you throttle back now?
He was nervous and forgot, found himself over the south of Italy as he throttled back, had to meet up with a refueler at Gibraltar but couldn't deccelearate enough by the time he reached it.
Said it was likely the fastest he'd or perhaps anyone ever flew the sr-71.
You just have to be in awe of a plane that uses countries and continents as waypoints, where I in my little bug smashers use roads and villages in rural Ontario.

SR-71 and the J58 (JT11D-20) powerplant remain as amazing feats of engineering. Especially considering it all came together in 18 months under Kelly Johnson.
Re: Sled Driver
The book is now insanely expensive, and only available used, but here it is in a pdf format: http://www.mediafire.com/view/4uep0se2a ... dr1v3r.pdf
