I want to open up the brainstorming to my fellow Canadians!

What is sexy about Aviation... about being a Pilot... especially in the early stages of your career even from your pre training days.

Is it airspeed, going fast, going high, altitude... wings...

I'm looking for any ideas! Please comment... it would really help me out.

I totally have that list nailed: pilot/model/firefighter

I've only got it two thirds nailed then! 39 year pilot, 25 year firefighter. I'll pass on being a model at this point!

I don't equate flying with sexy, they both stir important, but very different emotions for me - although I do take my wife to nice places in the plane so we have time alone!

As you can tell, pilots have great senses of humour. Not sure what the new aviation education venture will be, but I would strongly recommend not trying to portray or sell flying as sexy - especially in the early stages of the career.

Being a pilot can be a great job and can be a great career, but new pilots should go into it for the right reasons and know the good and bad about the job. Aviation IS sexy. But, it's also hard work, low pay, challenging hours and lots of time away from home. In my book, I've tried to be honest about the good and bad things about the industry and the job. While I've by no means made a fortune from book sales, I've had quite a good response from the fair portrayal of the job.

When potential pilots are sold on flying with only been told about the cool and sexy part of flying, they will feel betrayed.

This guy nailed it. I truly am what is sexy about aviation; that, and I get to wear pretty much whatever I want underneath my uniform.
