One of the first planes I flew was C-GDVI, nick named "queen bee", it was a PA28-140 owned by PAL back in the day. I ran into the new owner of her in Buttonville, a nice fella who is giving her a good home.
Has a new paint job, and a few new toys.

Cheers

Oh yeah, I did my first flight on DVI as well. It was with Elvis. My recommend was with M. Rashid on DVI and the private flt test was with Forsythe on, you guessed it, DVI. I guess that ol' girl was good to me!

Grimey, you just made my day with those pictures. I don't know why one particular airplane was so special among the hundreds of airplanes I have flown but it is just great to see that old airplane still active and flying.
Thank you!!

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

First flight was in a Sea Bee in 1947.

First dual training was in a Cessna 140 at Central Airwayy, Toronto Island June 21, 1953.

Last airplane flown, Super Decathalon on Sept. 04/05, in Lelystad, Holland for fun just before I left for home.

First Flight DHC2 Beaver on floats registered CF-OBH owned by the Provincial Air Service at Sudbury Ontario when I was a JR in 1966.
First lesson was in a 172 registered CF-NUT owned by the Brampton Flying Club in 1969. That registrtion was perhaps a precursor of things to come!

C-172 C-GZTI

Post by 5400AirportRdSouth »

Cool thread, I'll second that.

C172 C-GZTI out of CZBB

SnJ, we musta' flown the same AC flight, I got the cockpit-invite at 9 yrs old and turned the round knobby thing between the seats and she banked. Till the last few years, I always thought he pulled a fast one and had me dialing in the spare radio while he moved the yoke with his other hand or something... Someone showed me around a cockpit a year or two ago and the "round-knobby-thing" was pointed out and it did in fact bank the plane... ( I cant recall what the thing is/was, but it was legit apparently )
