remember the states put in random drug and alcohol testing for federally regulated transport employees. They found the number of false positives were much higher than the actual positives.....
do you want your career potentially destroyed by that.
these guys are subject to random testing too, if any job could be excused a toot on a root!

I love random alcohol testing. Scotch, wine, even the odd beer. Sooooo good.

How many pilots have shown up to work inebriated in the last 5 years? Surely, like DUIs, there must be a statistic for it. I'd like to know the actual numbers, then I can formulate an opinion on (or if) "random testing of the herd" is required.
Like people here said, the fatigue issue is real, proven and equally dangerous. That needs to be addressed.
