I just renewed mine in Winnipeg. Dropped off the application, made an appointment, and picked up my new pass 6 days later.

One of our guys just went in for a renewal (3 months before expiry) and was told processing time would be 4 months!

If the previous one gets close to expiry, drop in and they would process a temporary to bridge the need.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

What they do is wait after requests from csis, immigration, customs, and the police, notably the rcmp.

They do not only check for criminal records, they also wait for ANY police records, no matter how inconsequential they are. So, if you had a parking ticket, no big deal. If you dared to tell a cop off, you have a problem. If you are suspected of anything, same deal, you have a problem.

TC has been given ultimate authority to decide who is, and who is not, ''prone to interfere'' with aviation safety.

If you are squeaky clean, 2 weeks to one month should yield a pass.

My parking ticket and 15 over speeding ticket turned into almost 3 months. I know, huge risk to aviation safety. I might try to fly the plane....

I've submitted mine last Nov 2016, but early January of 2017 pass office told me that TC called them because of wrong info in my application form on the part of past 5 years activity (which is filled out by pass office staff). TC started process my background mid of Jan 2017 and until now there's no update.

Given that i'm new here in Canada, Arrived here in 2015 That's why it's taking sometime. But it's been too long now.
