I’m familiar, in fact im in a course with a Delta Private Jets pilot as we type. My comment was more towards the above that seemed to be on the track that Sunwing would have their own division with their own airplanes like DPJ, but actually using Flightexec aircraft.

Don't need a time machine but just a little time spent in this area of the industry to see that this marketing gimmick won't be as successful as you seem to think. It's not like there are a bunch of people out there with the means to charter saying to themselves, "Finally, all that was missing was a fancy new website for me to start chartering. Thank you SunwingJets for opening my eyes!" If they got the money, they already have someone they go to for charter. If that website is still working by the end of next summer, I'll be surprised!
How is this any different than chartering a Flightexec aircraft directly, except that Sunwing takes a cut as middleman? I can't see why either the customer or the operator would be enticed by this deal.
I guess they're trying to attract redneck lotto winners or the "nouveau riche" that have more money than brains. Might as well just walk into an fbo and ask for a jet charter.
I figure this comes from one of two things. Either they turn away a lot of calls from people looking for more upscale travel and they figure they may as well get a piece of that pie, or they're speculating that will happen and might be shot down by their low cost vacations image.
Exposure.....we are in aviation and know about these things. The vast majority of people have no idea what an FBO is nor do they have any idea how to “rent a plane”. It is a very logical step for both parties because Sunwing has the exposure and the marketing to back them.
