"Airliner simulators"
What do you aviators think of these airline simulators like Ufly and Threshold aviation in Toronto that I'm aware of as using them to further enhance any kind of prepatory training.
Or introduction to flying to practicing IFR or just using it to see if airline flying is for the individual.
Can they be useful in anyway or are they just a novelty ?
Wouldn't mind trying it.

Novelty. There's nothing there that can be useful in prepping to be an airline pilot. To the uninitiated it would be neat but to the initiated its hokey.
Re: "Airliner simulators"
Sunwing pilots use it to do some type of training on the 737 simulator.

Just what I was told, if not true my apologies.

This is funny....real funny.
No, a place like sunwing has their own (TC approved by the way, which they have to follow) training program and they don't even need to use entertainment tools for training.

Attempting to understand the world. I have not succeeded.

I’ve heard of guys occasionally buying an hour or 2 before they start training on a real 737 just to get a feel for it. Used to work with the owner of threshold at another job and got a highly discounted hour. Was cool at the time before I was flying but it’s nothing more than flight sim x
