Low time pilot enters IMC, encounters some unusual attitudes and communicates with ATC in real time.

Ill let u high timers comment on this one, but im glad we do lots of spin training here in Canada sapose to the US..

He was with FSS.

We don't do alot of spin training here.

In such an emergency, last thing i'd be doing is talking on the radio.

This is why we have sping training, spiral dive training, and instrament training...

I would hope that a basic student pilot gets enough trainging to know how to do at minimum a 180 to get out

Though this scared the heck out of me for sure!

I heard a worse one years ago on one of the air disaster websites. same situation, losing control, but the pilot in the c210 panicked and held the transmitter during the entire crash sequence. I'll see if I can find it.

That was freaky, I got into IFR conditions once at night with about 65hrs..
I remember hearing my instructors voice in my head "If it happens, remember the scan, steady as she goes and point'er back the other way my friend". That poor chap was definetly scared shitless for his life!

I normally don't go around looking for this sort of stuff, but after hearing it for myself i think its a good tool to get a message around. It sure scared the crap outta me and now with my solo night cross country coming up I might just be hititng the sim alittle more :P
I hope everyone gets atleast soemthing outta this audio clip...

take your time getting that weather.
keep ahead of your airplane.
Aviate, Navigate, and communicate.
and of course the hardest part.. knowing when to say NO

 HOLY SHIT!!

That would be a great intro for a lesson plan on IFR or spins. "You see, Johnny, THIS is why some instrument training and spin training is necessary."

Truly that is scary stuff. Unfortunatly for understandable reason's the morningstar recording was removed from this forum. I did get a chance to listen to it before it was removed. All I can say is there was one Calm and collected lady durring a time of destress. That too could be used as a training aid as to how not to loss your head in a time of distress. Unfortunatly she was not given the same second chance for staying calm and collected.

God Bless her
